Important Information About Your Bank


Privacy Policy


As your financial partner, Metropolitan National Bank has an ongoing commitment to protect the privacy of you, our customer. We pride ourselves in providing superior customer service and extend that to keeping your personal information secure. The following Privacy Statement will communicate our underlying principles in protecting your personal information.

We, our, and us, when used in this notice, mean Metropolitan National Bank. This is our privacy notice for our customers. When we use the words "you" and "your" we mean the following types of customers:

Our consumer customers who have a continuing relationship by purchasing or holding financial products or services such as a:
  • Deposit account
  • Loan account
  • Safe deposit box
We will tell you the sources of the information we collect about you. We will tell you what measures we take to secure that information.

We must first define some terms.

Nonpublic personal information means information about you that we collect in connection with providing a financial product or service to you. Nonpublic personal information does not include information that is available from public sources, such as telephone directories or government records. Hereafter, we will use the term "information" to mean nonpublic personal information as defined in this section.

An affiliate is a company we own or control, a company that owns or controls us, or a company that is owned or controlled by the same company that owns or controls us. Ownership does not mean complete ownership, but means owning enough to have control.

A nonaffiliated third party is a person we do not employ or a company that is not an affiliate of ours. This is also known as nonaffiliated third party, or simply, an "other party."

The Information We Collect


We collect information about you from the following sources:
  • Information you give us on applications or other forms.
  • Information about your transactions with us.
  • Information about your transactions with our affiliates.
  • Information about your transactions with other parties.
  • Information from a consumer reporting agency.
In addition, when you visit our website, we may use standard software to collect and store certain information for security and statistical purposes. It may include such information as:
  • The date and time our site was accessed.
  • Keywords you may have used to access our site.
  • The type of web browsing software you are using to view our site.
  • IP (Internet Protocol) address, a numeric address given to servers connected to the Internet.
  • The pages you visit.
  • City, State and Country.
Certain areas of our site may use a "cookie" to know if you have visited our site before. A cookie is a piece of information that a web site stores on a visitor's browser that is retrieved when the visitor logs on to the site again.

Visitors to our web site may provide information to us via E-mail, online registration forms or our guestbook. This information is used internally to handle the sender's request and/or communicate with you and is not sold to other organizations.

Your Information and Other Parties


We will not disclose information about you to anyone except as disclosed in this policy or as permitted by law. This might include disclosures necessary to service your account, perform joint marketing or prevent unauthorized transactions.

Information About Former Customers


We do not disclose information about former customers, except as permitted by law.


Savings Disclosure

Transfers from a savings account to another account or to third parties by preauthorized, automated telephone transfer, or online banking transfer are limited to six (6) per month, with no transfers by check, draft, or similar order to third parties. The limit of 9 withdrawals per quarter includes ATM withdrawals. Statements are provided quarterly. If an account is affected by an electronic transaction, a statement will be provided during any month in which such a transaction occurs, but no less than quarterly. Overdraft Privilege Policy (Service Description)

OVERDRAFT PRIVILEGESM POLICY (SERVICE DESCRIPTION)

(A Discretionary Overdraft Service)

It is the policy of Metropolitan National Bank ("the Bank, we, us, or our") to comply with applicable laws and regulations, and to conduct business in accordance with applicable safety and soundness standards.

A non-sufficient funds (negative) balance may result from: A) The payment of checks, electronic funds transfers, or other withdrawal requests; B) Payments authorized by you; C) The return, unpaid, of items deposited by you; D) The imposition of applicable service charges; or E) The deposit of items which according to the Bank's Funds Availability Policy, are treated as not yet "available" or finally paid.

We are not obligated to pay any item presented for payment if your account does not contain sufficient collected funds. Rather than automatically returning, unpaid, any non-sufficient funds items that you may have, if your eligible account has been open for at least ninety (90) days and thereafter you maintain your account in good standing, which includes at least: (A) Continuing to make deposits consistent with your past practices, and depositing at least $800 or more in your account within each ninety (90) day period, (B) You are not in default on any loan obligation to the Bank, (C) You bring your account to a positive balance (not overdrawn) at least once every thirty (30) days, and (D) Your account is not the subject of any legal or administrative order or levy, we will consider, without obligation on our part, approving your reasonable overdrafts.This discretionary * service will generally be limited to a $500 overdraft (negative) balance for Free Checking accounts, $700 overdraft (negative) balance for other eligible personal checking accounts or business checking accounts. Of course, any and all fees and charges, including without limitation our non-sufficient funds/overdraft fees ($25.00 as set forth in our fee schedules) will be included in this limit and will apply to any transaction that overdraws your account including, but not limited to, payments authorized by Checks, ACH / Electronic Items, ATM / Debit Card / Check Cards, Internet Banking/Online Banking and Telephone Banking Transactions.

We may refuse to pay an overdraft for you at any time, even though your account is in good standing and even though we may have previously paid overdrafts for you. You will be notified by mail of any non-sufficient funds items paid or returned that you may have; however, we have no obligation to notify you before we pay or return any item. The amount of any overdrafts plus our Non-Sufficient Funds and/or Overdraft (NSF/OD) Charge(s) that you owe us shall be due and payable upon demand. If there is an overdraft paid by us on an account with more than one (1) owner on the signature card, each owner, and agent if applicable, drawing/presenting the item creating the overdraft, shall be jointly and severally liable for such overdrafts plus our Non-Sufficient Funds and/or Overdraft (NSF/OD) Charge(s).

LIMITATIONS: Certain Business Type Accounts, All Savings Type Accounts, All Money Market Accounts, All Public Fund/Charitable Organization Accounts and Student Minor Accounts are not eligible. We may limit the number of accounts eligible for Overdraft PrivilegeSM *Service to one account per account holder.

*The Overdraft PrivilegeSM Service does not constitute an actual or implied agreement between you and the Bank. Nor does it constitute an actual or implied obligation of or by the Bank. This service represents a purely discretionary courtesy or privilege that the Bank may provide to you from time to time and which may be withdrawn or withheld by us at any time without prior notice or reason or cause.
